FALCONERI POP-UP STORE
ARCHITECTURE FOR BRANDS
A curious tent housing a garden and a store.
YACademy Bologna’s Architecture for Fashion 2021 course called for the design of a moving pop-up store for the Italian cashmere brand, Falconeri.
The brief asked to introduce the brand in different cities around the world. This was interpreted as a travelling tent, inspired from yurt structures found in the Mongolian steppes – the source of Falconeri’s cashmere.
Spaces are generated by the act of draping fabric. The structure is conceieved as two tents inside each other. The outer tent houses a public garden that one must traverse to access the inner tent containing the store. Once inside, the visitor is in a world of fabric, illuminated by the sky.
